Lubbock Game Changers Announce Plans for A New Indoor Sports Facility in Lubbock

A state of the art indoor sports facility could be built in Lubbock. This past week plans were announced for a indoor facility for youth sports and other events. The plan is the dream of the Lubbock Game Changers and the Lubbock City Council who entered into an agreement for the Lubbock non-profit to build the facility in a city park.

The estimated cost? $50 million dollars.

Lubbock Game Changers Announce a Future Indoor Sports Facility

Lubbock Game Changers in a local non-profit organization that has been put together to lead this project. The non-profit organization will be in charge of fundraising, building, and operating a new state of the art youth sports facility. According to EverythingLubbock.com, all funds for the building of the facility will be privately raised and the organization says they have already “secured early commitments from local donors and sponsors and is actively seeking additional support”, but they did not say the amount of money committed.

The facility will be built at McAlister Park.

What Will the New Sports Facility in Lubbock Look Like?

According to EverythingLubbock and Lubbock Game Changers, the arena will be a 137,000 sq. ft arena with a really cool ASB LumiFLEX court. The technology has been used in NBA All-Star Games and would be the first permanent floor of its kind in the U.S. The arena would sit about 1800 people. Other features include:

  • 12 Volleyball Courts
  • Large Arena for Championship/Exhibition Games
  • Elevated Experience with 2nd-story Stadium seats
  • Dining Area and Full Menu Concessions
  • Sports Medicine Clinic
  • Pre-game Players’ Lounge
  • Parent Lounge
  • Video Game Room
  • 700+ Concrete Parking Spots
