Dane County Sheriff pushes to stop incoming physical mail into the jail over drug concerns

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to stop physical mail from coming into the Dane County Jail due to concerns of it being laced with drugs.

“Over the past few years, we have had instances where substances have come in through the mail, whether it is paper that is soaked or different types of substances, if we have an opportunity to eliminate it, that is our ultimate goal,” said Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett.
