Hot & humid Monday; storm chances tonight across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Like this past weekend, today will be hot and humid but welcome changes will be arriving soon. Afternoon temperatures in the middle 90s will feel like 100 degrees, if not hotter and strenuous outdoor activities should be avoided.

A batch of showers and storms will move across Kansas tonight, arriving in the Wichita area after 2 a.m. While some storms will be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds, widespread severe weather is not expected.

We get one more uncomfortable afternoon on Tuesday with highs in the lower 90s and feels like temperatures near 100 degrees. However, an approaching cold front arriving tomorrow afternoon/evening will usher in cooler temperatures and lower humidity.
