SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office fined a dozen people over the weekend for illegal target shooting at a popular park in Sparks.
On Sunday, August 17, deputies were checking the area of Golden Eagle Regional Park and the Bureau of Land Management land south of the park for illegal target shooters. During the operation, deputies talked with over 20 people in several different groups, illegally target shooting in a restricted area.
The sheriff’s office says while it supports recreating outdoors to include legal target shooting, discharging guns too close to houses, and more importantly a regional park where kids are playing, is reckless and dangerous…
