Yucaipa, CA — A frantic search is underway for 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, who was reportedly kidnapped from outside a Yucaipa Boulevard store on Monday evening.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the child’s mother, Rebecca Haro, told authorities she was changing Emmanuel’s diaper outside her car around 7:47 p.m. when an unknown assailant attacked her, rendering her unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovered her son was missing.
However, investigators have revealed inconsistencies in Ms. Haro’s account, and she declined further questioning after being confronted about these discrepancies. While authorities have not ruled out foul play, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Ms. Haro, sporting a black eye she attributes to the alleged assault, has made public pleas for information regarding her son’s whereabouts. She stated the family was in the area for another child’s football practice.
Little Emmanuel was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. He is described as being approximately 24 inches tall with brown hair and eyes, and a notable cross-eyed condition.
K9 units and scent-tracking dogs have been deployed in the search efforts. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Dispatch at 909-387-3545. The investigation is ongoing.
