CHARLEESTON, S.C. (WCBD) A developer’s request to put 38 townhomes on Folly Road is facing backlash on James Island.
James Island residents are concerned by a development request to annex and upzone 2.4 acres from unincorporated Charleston County to part of the City of Charleston. They are worried the townhomes would cause overcrowding and encroaching on natural resources like trees that help reduce flooding.
