CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — One person died in a house fire in Chester County that sent exploding oxygen tanks across a highway and forced firefighters to battle intense flames that collapsed the home’s roof, authorities said.
High Point Fire District, along with mutual aid from Pageland Fire and Sandhill Fire departments, responded to a house fire on Highway 207 near Dudley Road around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Crews arrived to find a small home fully engulfed in flames.
