KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Neighbors gathered this week to celebrate what they called the end of a frustrating chapter in their community, sharing lemonade and snacks as they reflected on their long push to have the traffic circles taken out.
The City of Kalamazoo installed two temporary roundabouts in 2022, one at Chevy Chase Boulevard and Waite Avenue and another at Chevy Chase and Lorraine Avenue, as part of a pilot project aimed at slowing down drivers.
However, residents say the changes created more problems than they solved.
