Downtown Kalamazoo Icon Is Closing After 40+ Years

West Michigan is saying goodbye to another longtime bar and restaurant. This beloved spot has been part of downtown Kalamazoo for more than 40 years, serving as a gathering place for celebrations, casual nights out, and countless memories.

That restaurant is Harvey’s on the Mall. The Kalamazoo staple first opened downtown in the early 1980s. Known for its laid-back atmosphere, hearty menu, live music, and central location, it has become a go-to favorite for locals and visitors alike.

On the menu you’ll find a big selection of appetizers like Smoked Wings, Trash Can Fries, White Cheddar Cheese Curds, Fried Pickles, and Chili Cheese Fries.
