FAIRHOPE, Ala. (SBG) — The City of Fairhope is proud to announce the grand opening of Flying Creek Nature Preserve, a stunning 108-acre public space dedicated to conservation, outdoor recreation, and environmental education. The community is invited to attend the celebration on Saturday, August 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Located in the heart of Fairhope and nestled along Fly Creek, the preserve offers a peaceful retreat with scenic hiking trails, a butterfly garden, bird blinds, a longleaf pine preserve, picnic areas, and a nature center, with more passive and bike trails coming soon. During the grand opening, guests can enjoy guided trail tours, kids’ activities, and a special ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony.
A free shuttle service will run continuously from the Fairhope Docks Marina to Flying Creek Nature Preserve between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of this service, as parking at the preserve will be limited…
