April storm victims face deadline for FEMA assistance

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Time is running out for West Tennessee victims of the April 2nd-22nd severe storms and tornadoes to apply for federal disaster assistance through FEMA.

The deadline for individual assistance for storm victims in Dyer, Hardeman, McNairy and Obion counties is 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19.

According to FEMA, federal disaster relief money is available for storm victims who need help covering uninsured costs for things like rental expenses, home repairs, vehicle damage, medical expenses, moving and storage, and reimbursement for temporary housing…
