Notre Dame Academy students start new school year with community service

TOLEDO, Ohio — While students returned to the classrooms on their first day back, students at Notre Dame Academy also packed thousands of weekend meal bags for children in need across the community.

The all-girls Catholic high school partnered with the local nonprofit, Connecting Kids to Meals, for a day of service on Friday, giving students a hands-on opportunity to address and help combat childhood hunger.

“Today we’re starting our school year with a day of service, and we are doing our service by helping connect kids in our community with food,” said Abigail Beier, a senior at Notre Dame Academy and a student leader in the school’s campus ministry core team.
