EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The 2025 Education Service Center Region 19 (ESC19) Teachers of the Year were revealed during an awards celebration on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Starlight Event Center.
The winners are as follows, according to ESC19:
- Rachel Gomez, Sierra Blanca Elementary – 2025 ESC19 Elementary Teacher of the Year
- Brenda Carrillo, Tornillo High School – 2025 ESC19 Secondary Teacher of the Year
“Both winners are shining examples of educators returning to their hometown communities to give back with passion, dedication, and a true commitment to their profession. It is inspiring to see former students become the very teachers who now shape the lives of the next generation,” read the news release by ESC19.
