Hinds County seeks new Public Works director, 4th vacancy in 2 years

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Hinds County supervisors are searching for a new Public Works director.

According to Hinds County Supervisor Robert Graham, District 1, Dexter Shelby stepped down.

Mississippi aims to reduce chronic absenteeism

Supervisor Bobby “Bobcat” McGowan, District 5, said Shelby was the fourth person to serve in the role in the last two years. With the position unexpectedly empty, it will make it hard for the county to complete projects.
