Volunteers needed for Asheville’s annual bike and pedestrian data collection

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville is searching for volunteers as the city’s Transportation Department prepares for its annual bicycle and pedestrian data collection.

This initiative, held the week following Labor Day, helps identify trends in various activities throughout the city and is used for safety improvement projects, according to the city.

Volunteers can participate in two ways: by assisting with bike and pedestrian counts during the designated week, or by helping conduct greenway user surveys on the Wilma Dykeman Greenway and Reed Creek Greenway…
