CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – People in the Lowcountry came together over the weekend to protest gun violence in the community, while supporting those who have lost loved ones to it.
Spreading love and joy were key messages from people who attended. That includes Ruth Harrison-Tascoe, who says her 17-year-old son was shot and killed. Event organizer Tony Lewis and other leaders are still working hard to develop solutions to prevent shootings in Charleston County.
“Bring awareness to what’s going on, so we all can be on one chord and become that village again,” Lewis said. “Because if we can become that village, everyone comes together as that village, we can solve and deter things and all the crime and violence going on.”…
