(WJET/WFXP) – A local fire company is hosting a blood drive to honor a member of their team who passed away a few years ago.
On Tuesday, August 26, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., the Community Blood Bank (CBB) will partner with the Crescent Hose Company to host a blood drive at 36 East Main Street in North East, Pennsylvania, in memory of Thomas “Gonzo” Gonzales.

Gonzales was a lifelong resident of North East and a dedicated member of the Crescent Hose Company for 47 years. During his time with the company, Gonzales served as both captain and treasurer, among other roles. He passed away on August 17, 2022.
According to a release from the CBB, “This blood drive honors Tom’s legacy of service and his commitment to his community. Blood donations are a vital resource for local hospitals, and this event provides a meaningful way for friends, family, and community members to give back in a way that reflects Tom’s own selflessness.”…
