KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Around 30 neighbors from the Chilhowee Park area gathered on Monday evening to voice their concerns about a proposal to develop a new recreation facility in part of the park.
Leaders will consider whether to sell the section of the park south of Magnolia Ave to the Emerald Youth Foundation on Tuesday evening. According to proposal documents and Emerald Youth’s website, the foundation would spend a little less than $1 million on the purchase, with a vision to develop a multi-million-dollar, multi-use facility.
