KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A vote set for Tuesday could decide what the future of Chilhowee Park will look like. The Knoxville City Council will vote on the potential sale of part of the park and the expansion of the children’s science museum, Muse Knoxville, into the Jacob Building.
Some people in the area say if they follow through, they could be taking away from public land. Community members held a public meeting Monday, led by former Knox County Commissioner Evelyn Gill, to voice their opinions on what changes to Chilhowee Park could bring.

“There is very real value in fear of the community to say that once this is sold, we’ll never see this land again and I think that’s appropriate. We should be outraged,” said Constance Every.
