Woman who assaulted deputy in Toledo Municipal Court learns sentence

TOLEDO, Ohio — A woman who assaulted a deputy in Toledo Municipal Court learned her sentence in court Tuesday, just over three months after she attempted to flee court and was tased.

During Tuesday morning’s sentencing hearing, a judge sentenced Kara Rose, 33, to five to seven and a half years in prison.

Rose’s attorney told the court she has faced decades of trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, sex trafficking, the death of her infant and had event been shot in 2023. Her attorney said these incidents caused Rose’s drug addiction and long criminal record – four felonies and two dozen misdemeanors…
