WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington city leaders received an update on homelessness as they prepare to revisit a tabled ordinance that would ban camping on city property from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Results from this year’s Point-In-Time survey show 506 people struggle with homelessness in Wilmington, and 53% of those homeless in Wilmington are unsheltered, which means they sleep in areas like the streets or parking decks.
