Firefighters contain factory fire with 1,000 gallons of spilled chemicals; No injuries reported, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – A fire at a Northeast Side factory is under control on Monday afternoon after San Antonio firefighters contended with 1,000 gallons of spilled chemicals.

Woody Woodward, a public information officer with the San Antonio Fire Department, said the fire started before noon at a factory that refurbishes airplane parts in the 3600 block of Highpoint Street. The factory isn’t far from Wurzbach Parkway and Nacogdoches Road.

Approximately 100 employees were evacuated…
