Eugene woman faces new charges for drugs near Saturday Market

EUGENE, Ore. – A local woman faces renewed allegations of drug sales near the Saturday Market, according to documents filed in Lane County Circuit Court.

Miranda Sahalie Townsend, 45, is charged with five counts related to the manufacturing or delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance, along with unlawful possession. Authorities first became aware of Townsend in 2019 when she allegedly advertised psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana at the market. The affidavit stated that Townsend was allegedly seen flashing signs at market customers. Police seized drugs and signs at the time, but no charges were filed.

Since then, Townsend and her boyfriend have faced repeated accusations of selling drugs on city property, including to teenagers. An undercover officer recently purchased drugs from her booth. The affidavit reveals neither Townsend nor her boyfriend is licensed to sell or manufacture marijuana. Townsend’s city permit to sell goods was revoked last year…
