The largest retail redevelopment project in the region is well underway at The Oddie District in Sparks.
Construction began June 10 to transform the vacant Lowe’s Home Improvement center into 110,000 square feet of retail space. Construction work of interior retail, office and light-industrial spaces is expected to be completed by the end of the year with tenants beginning to move in during the first few months of 2026, said Doug Wiele, founder and chief executive officer of Foothill Partners of Eldorado Hills, Calif. Foothill Partners is the developer of Reno Public Market on Plumb Lane.
Work inside the building envelope includes installing new underground utilities and creating 30-foot wide corridors running north-south and east-west in order to better subdivide the space into rentable units Wiele said during a tour of the property last week.
