Magnolia Springs hotspot now marked with ‘No Trespassing’ signs

MAGNOLIA SPRINGS, Ala. (WKRG) — Magnolia Landing is one of the most popular places in Magnolia Springs where people head to on hot summer days to cool off.

Now, locals are being kept out and forbidden to enter the Magnolia River from this access point.

“In the summertime, it’s kids and families and fishing and throwing nets out,” Magnolia Springs Mayor Ross Houser said. “It’s very popular.”

The land was donated to the town of Magnolia Springs in 2009. In 2012, a grant helped fund the construction of the Magnolia Landing boardwalk and observation deck that led to a dock right on the Magnolia River.

“We built this for the access for the residents and other people in the community to come to the river,” Mayor Houser said…
