Consumer Alert: That official “Final Notice” you got about your car warranty is not what it seems

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – This consumer alert concerns a deceptive letter that appears to be an official notice. The letter, sent by US Automotive Protection Services, uses urgent language and includes a voucher resembling a check with an expiration date, urging recipients to act quickly.

The letter claims that your vehicle coverage may be expiring and includes details like the make, model, and year of your car. Nothing in the body of the letter tells you who sent it. You only learn that if you’re able to read the tiny print at the bottom of the page.
