Police seek answers nearly 3 decades after woman’s body found in El Cajon

EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities in El Cajon are still searching for answers regarding the case of an unidentified woman who was found dead nearly three decades ago.

According to the El Cajon Police Department, the woman’s body was found in the brush near the 1300 block of Avocado Avenue on Aug. 13, 1998.

She was believed to be a white or Hispanic female in her 30s with brown hair, was around 5’2″ and weighed about 110 pounds. Police added that she had signs of at least one prior pregnancy.

At the time her body was found, the unidentified woman, who was believed to be a victim of a homicide, was wearing a silver herringbone bracelet, black shoes and a blue shirt that read “Woodruff Warriors 20 Year Reunion 1971-1991.”

On Tuesday, just over 27 years since her body was discovered, ECPD posted a rendering of what she possibly looked like when she was alive as they continue seeking answers in her case.

Authorities said her DNA has been submitted to Othram Labs for genetic genealogy and Parabon Labs for phenotyping. Results from the tests revealed the woman had ancestral roots in Michoacán, Mexico, and a possible relative in the San Diego area…
