Redwood Empire Food Bank to pay $575,000 in labor lawsuit settlement

A $575,000 settlement was finalized this month in a lawsuit filed by a former Redwood Empire Food Bank employee who alleged the nonprofit violated state labor laws.

Dashawn Love, a former transportation coordinator, sued in 2021 alleging the food bank failed to pay regular and overtime wages, provide required meal breaks and maintain accurate payroll records. Love worked at the Santa Rosa-based organization for several months in 2020, from May to October, though his complaint does not include specific dates of violations.
