AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – As the new school year begins, AutoNation is helping local families prepare with free Car Care Clinics at select locations in Amarillo.
Backed by a new survey conducted by Atomik Research on behalf of AutoNation, the events aim to give young drivers the knowledge and confidence to care for their vehicles. The survey, conducted online among more than 1,000 U.S. parents of driving-age children, found that 92% of parents believe routine maintenance is key to driver safety.
Additional findings include:
- 42% of parents of 15- to 22-year-olds said dashboard warning indicators were ignored for a week or more — with 10% admitting warnings were ignored for three months or longer.
- 14% of parents said it had been more than six months since their young driver’s vehicle had a full safety inspection.
- 22% were unsure when their child’s vehicle last underwent a comprehensive inspection.
- Nearly 50% of parents expressed concern about their teen’s vehicle condition, especially brakes and tires.
AutoNation’s Car Care Clinics are designed to address these concerns by offering hands-on, interactive education led by the company’s expert technicians…
