New Orleans Man Admits to Fentanyl Distribution Charges, Faces up to 40 Years in Prison

On August 5, Scotty Andrew Bascle, known as “BASCLE”, age 25, admitted to federal drug trafficking charges related to distributing a significant quantity of fentanyl. As reported by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Bascle faces up to four decades in prison, potentially a $1,000,000 fine, a minimum of four years under supervision after release, and an obligatory special assessment fee of $100. His sentence is scheduled for November 4.

Details from court documents highlight a December 12, 2023, operation where Bascle met with individuals in a drug store parking lot in Metairie, Louisiana. These individuals, under the guise of buyers, were part of an ATF investigation and purchased 59.78 grams of fentanyl from Bascle. Later, in January 2024, these supposed buyers established direct contact with him. A detailed description of Bascle’s vehicle led ATF agents to secure a search warrant for his black Toyota Camry, leading up to a sting operation where they seized 56.38 grams of heroin and fentanyl from a hidden compartment…
