WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – For nearly two years now Shala Perez has been looking into her home owners association in the Fairmont neighborhood and what she’s found has her concerned.
“The HOA board were paying themselves to serve in this voluntary capacity, I found that they were also paying themselves to do tasks around the neighborhood,” said Perez, “they were buying things that weren’t approved in any meetings.”
It goes further than that, Perez claims the board is waiving their HOA dues, eliminating new board members without a neighborhood vote and hiring a lawyer without discussing it with neighbors or even passing a budget…
