BOISE, Idaho — Summer is coming to an end, but for those looking to take a dip in Lake Lowell in Caldwell, they should pick another location as it is under a health advisory.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality issued the health advisory for Lake Lowell on Tuesday because the waters are experiencing a toxic cyanobacterial bloom. Officials are urging people and their pets to avoid contact with the water since it’s harmful.
“Cyanobacteria are a natural part of Idaho’s water bodies, but when temperatures rise, their populations can bloom and toxins can be released into the water,” the department said in a news release…
