(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A 41-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly making comments based on a victim’s sexual orientation before stabbing the victim in Downtown Colorado Springs on Monday, Aug. 18.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded just before 7 a.m. on Monday to the area of North Nevada Avenue and East Kiowa Street on a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Through the investigation, CSPD said officers learned the victim may have been targeted due to his sexual orientation, based on statements allegedly made by the suspect prior to the assault…
