A judge recently ordered a utility billing software company to pay the city of Fort Collins more than $21 million in damages, concluding a lawsuit filed by the city in 2021.
The city had hired the company, Open International LLC, to create a new billing system for Utilities and Connexion customers.
In an October 2023 trial in U.S. District Court in Denver, a jury found Open International LLC and Open Investments LLC, fraudulently induced the city into a contract.
