SPARKS, Nev. — The City of Sparks has announced a series of road closures beginning Thursday, August 21, to accommodate the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off and a Nelly concert at the Nugget Event Center. The closures will remain in effect until Thursday, September 4, at 6:00 a.m.
The affected areas include Victorian Avenue from Pyramid Highway to Victorian Plaza Circle (west side), Victorian Plaza Circle (east) from Avenue of the Oaks to Nugget Avenue, and Avenue of the Oaks in front of the Galaxy Theater, extending one block east and west. Additionally, 10th Street south of Avenue of the Oaks from the alleyway to Victorian Avenue will be closed.
The alleyway between 10th Street and the Sparks Heritage Museum will be closed from 3 a.m. on August 27 to 6:00 p.m. on September 1. The Sparks Heritage Museum parking lot will be reserved for museum volunteers and patrons only…
