Polk County building a new dog shelter amid an animal services shortage in the county

POLK COUNTY, Ore. (KATU) — Polk County is getting a new 12-kennel dog shelter amid a shortage of animal services in the county.

“We have never had something like this where we can feel confident that the dogs [are] going to be taken care of,” said Polk County Sheriff Mark Garton.
