Tacoma’s Haunted Farmers Market brings spooky thrills to Sunday afternoons

TACOMA, Wash. — While most farmers markets showcase fresh produce and artisanal goods, Tacoma’s Haunted Farmers Market offers something decidedly darker: jumping spiders, taxidermy rabbits and human skull cutlery.

“I am a very spooky person. I love Halloween. I love true crime. I love paranormal,” said Brianna Aratin, the market’s founder. “I don’t know if it’s real. I just love it.”

In March of 2024 Aratin created the unconventional market on a whim, discovering she wasn’t alone in her fascination with the supernatural. The event now attracts vendors and customers from across the country, including Canada, Georgia and Florida…
