Birmingham homicide suspect arrested in New Orleans

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham man was arrested in New Orleans in connection to a fatal shooting that happened last week, according to the Birmingham Police Department.

Harold Dailey, 35, is charged with capital murder after John Roulaine was shot and killed in the parking lot of a building on the 5500 block of First Avenue North on Aug. 11. Roulaine was 51 years old.

The BPD Crime Reduction Team started a fugitive investigation Monday to locate and arrest Dailey after receiving a warrant. Detectives discovered Dailey was in New Orleans. They requested help from the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force and FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Squad.
