It won’t be too long until Michael Dylan Brennan rides off into the sunset after serving as mayor of the city of University Heights for the past eight years.
But as Brennan’s tenure draws to a close, he is happy to see that one of his biggest projects, the redevelopment of University Square into what will now be called Bell Tower Center, is not only chugging along, but has started to move into the phase where businesses are starting to open their doors.
“Qdoba and Smoothie King are coming,” Brennan, the city’s’ 10th mayor who announced in January that he would not be seeking a third term, said. “They already have their signs out over on their storefronts on Warrensville Center Road. Those should open by the end of (August). I don’t have an exact date, but they’re close to being ready and as soon as they clear their certificate of occupancy, they’ll be clear to open.”…
