Hillsborough mother in urgent need of lifesaving donor

Alexis Long, a 27-year-old nurse, mother and Hillsborough native whose life has been devoted to caring for others, is now in urgent need of a lifesaving blood stem cell donor.
Long was diagnosed in 2014 with aplastic anemia and treated at UNC Hospital. The compassion she received from her care team inspired her to become a nurse, earning her degree from UNC Greensboro and returning to work at the very hospital where she had once been a patient.
