According to a Santa Rosa County news release, the road would serve as a parallel route to U.S. 98 for the northern end of the area, and would run between Edgewood Drive and Panhandle Trail.

The project development and environmental study is being used to develop and evaluate various “roadway alignments” to figure out which route would best provide safety and system connectivity.

As part of the study, the social, economic, cultural, natural, and physical effects of each route are being evaluated.

From this study, a location and design concept of the project was developed in keeping with Santa Rosa County and Florida Department of Transportation policy, procedures, and requirements.
