Police flagged down after unwelcome customer shows up at 7-Eleven

A Fruitland Park man is due in court early next month for trespassing at a 7-Eleven to get a drink of water.

Officers were flagged down to 7-Eleven, located at 2058 U.S. Hwy. 27/441, due to 33-year-old Travis Michael Defosse coming into the store despite being trespassed Saturday, Aug. 9, according to a case report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

The customer who got their attention advised that the store clerk needed the assistance of law enforcement. Defosse was standing in front of the store, so one officer went inside while another stayed outside with him. The store clerk told them Defosse had been trespassed the day before and was not supposed to be on store property, the report said.

An officer returned to the patrol to verify Defosse had been trespassed as the clerk continued. She stated he came into the store, shook his head, got a drink of water and walked out, knowing he was not allowed to be there, the report said…
