TOLEDO, Ohio — The suspect accused of stabbing a TARTA bus driver in July has been found incompetent to stand trial, according to Toledo Municipal Court records.
44-year-old Aaron Wiggins appeared in court Tuesday, where a judge ruled that he would not be able to stand trial for the assault counts with which he is charged. The court did, however, find a “substantial probability” that Wiggins would become competent to stand trial within a year if provided with treatment.
Wiggins was ordered to undergo treatment at Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare for competency restoration. For a misdemeanor assault charge – to which he has pleaded not guilty – Wiggins will not be required to serve more than 60 days at the facility…
