Toledo museum to be featured as stop on new Lake Erie to Ohio River Trail

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo museum will be featured as an official stop on a new driving trail meant to commemorate Ohio’s history, one move among many in the state and nation as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary.

The National Museum of the Great Lakes (NMGL) said in a press release Wednesday that its site would be one of more than 150 stops on a new, experimental driving trail: the America 250-Ohio Commission’s Lake Erie to Ohio River Trail.

The trail itself aims to highlight “the crucial role that water has played in moving people, goods, and ideas across the state,” NMGL said. Stops across the state include Ohio boats and ferryboats, light houses, museums, canal locks, overlooks, research sites and more…
