Police raid near Elkton nets drugs, $2K and one arrest

ELKTON — A man remained jailed on Tuesday after police confiscated nearly a half-pound of suspect heroin mixed with fentanyl and more than $2,000 while raiding his residence near Elkton, ending an investigation that lasted approximately seven months, according to Cecil County District Court records.

Investigators identified the suspect as John Tillman Boyce, 43, of the unit block of Cox Lane, where Cecil County Sheriff’s Office investigators conducted their raid shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, police reported.

The CCSO investigation leading to Boyce’s arrest and the criminal charges against him started in January, police said. Spurring the investigation into the “whereabouts and activities of John Tillman Boyce” was an active Maryland State Police warrant and several reports of Boyce “selling large quantities of narcotics in the Elkton area,” police added…
