The Colonial School Board voted to change their tax rates, but unlike the Brandywine School District, they elected to keep some extra money.
Colonial held a special meeting in the wake of last week’s special session at Legislative Hall where districts were given permission to split their tax rates into residential and non-residential portions after some taxpayers saw sharp increases in school tax due to the court-ordered reassessment.
Unlike Brandywine, which voted Monday to reduce its extra 1.7% referendum tax increase when they received federal funding they thought could be permanently frozen, Colonial was facing a decision about the 7% they took in July…
