After 16 Months on the Run, Woman Arrested in $4.4K Multi-Store Retail Theft Case

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 52-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after authorities allege she stole thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from several retail locations across Pennsylvania, including a store in Kennett Square Borough.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, Chanel Green was being held at Northampton County Prison as of August 11, 2025. A preliminary hearing in District Court 15-3-04 was scheduled for today, August 20, 2025.

The charges stem from an incident on April 5, 2024, when officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Mill Road in Kennett Square for a delayed report of retail theft. Investigators reviewed security footage that allegedly showed a woman entering a store, taking a box of diapers, and leaving without payment. The same woman later returned carrying a large reusable shopping bag and allegedly left the store again with additional merchandise…
