Texas single mother welcomes rare quintuplets in El Paso

A Texas woman who was born a quadruplet herself has now made history at an El Paso hospital by giving birth to quintuplets.

Theresa Troia, a 36-year-old nurse consultant and single mother, delivered five premature babies by cesarean section on June 3 at just 28 weeks of pregnancy. The newborns include three daughters – Isabella, Viviana, and a third sister whose name has not yet been released – and two baby boys.

The delivery, which took place at Las Palmas Medical Center, marked the first time quintuplets have ever been born within the Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare system. Each baby weighed just under three pounds, and while all required specialized neonatal care, doctors say the infants are progressing well.
