Green Bay, Wis. – Drivers from Wausau to Shawano could face hazardous travel early Tuesday as dense fog settles across central and northern Wisconsin. Some locations may see visibility drop to a quarter-mile or less, raising risks during the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, areas of fog are expected to develop overnight across north-central, central and far northeastern counties including Vilas, Marathon, Langlade and Florence. The fog will linger until mid-morning Tuesday before lifting.
Motorists are urged to use caution, as conditions could change rapidly along highways such as U.S. 51 near Wausau, Highway 29 through Shawano County, and rural stretches of Highway 45 in Langlade and Lincoln counties.
