GATEWAY, Ark. — Did you catch a flash of light across the northern Arkansas sky Saturday night? If so, you weren’t imagining things. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) reported that a meteor was over Gateway on Aug. 16 at 8:35 p.m. (Aug. 17 1:35 a.m. UTC).
“This was a flat-trajectory, long-lasting fireball seen over northern Arkansas,” NASA said. “Sparse radar data is seen but the fireball had the visible appearance of possibly producing meteorites.”
